Shay Dixon:
With his background in dance ranging from Hip-Hop to Latin, Ballroom, and Ballet, Shay Dixon is quickly becoming well-known within the ballroom industry, especially among Hustle and Salsa Circuit. His unique style and versatility has earned him rank among the top dance in the country.
He was introduced to dancing at a very young age, and his major influences were Break Dancing, Hip-Hop, and the rhythmic style of Michael Jackson. In 2002, Shay won 1st place at the national talent MB Expo in Dallas with a routine in tribute to Michael Jackson. At the age of 19, he began Latin dancing socially at local Jacksonville clubs which immediately sparked his interest in dancing again. After Graduating College, he began to pursue a career in dance and started training at Boleros Cultural Arts Center in Jacksonville, Fl. He has now been teaching at Boleros for the past 7 years and is professionally certified to instruct both American Style Smooth and Rhythm.
In 2004, he married his partner, Michelle Dixon, and shortly after, they both began competing professionally at Hustle and Salsa competition in 2006. In 2007, they placed 3rd in the World Pro Hustle Championship and Pro Cabaret at the International Hustle and Salsa Competition. Shay also is involved with the entertainment industry as well. He had roles in "Guys and Dolls" and "Man of the Mancha" at the Alhambra Dinner Theater. He has also been caste in commercials, industrials, and independent films throughout Jacksonville and Savannah. Presently, Shay is excited about pursuing his career in dance and entertainment by competing, and teaching throughout the country.
