Michelle Dixon:
Michelle Dixon got her start dancing at a very young age, and has since become known for being very well-rounded with her experience spanning many dance styles. Her early training was in Theatre dances such as Ballet, Jazz, Modern, & Tap. She became serious about a career in dance after attending two intensive summer programs at the Virginia School of the Arts, and then went on to study at Jacksonville University in Florida. She graduated in 2004 with a BFA in dance, and was honored in 2003 for excellence in dance performance from the American College Dance Festival. She has now been teaching Theatre dance for several years.
After college, she began training in Ballroom and Latin dances, as well as Hustle, Salsa, & Cabaret. She began competing professionally, with husband and partner Shay Dixon, at Hustle and Salsa competitions in 2006, and in 2007, placed 3rd in the World Pro Hustle Championships and Pro Cabaret at the International Hustle and Salsa Competition. She is looking forward to continuing to compete and perform at many events in the future. She also teaches Ballroom, Latin, and Theatre dance classes at Boleros Grand Ballroom in Jacksonville, FL.
